Here’s a list of celebrities that got married this year (2008).

1. Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds had a New Year’s Day wedding on a private island off Bora Bora in French Polynesia. The bride wore a custom-designed form-fitting wedding dress by stylist and designer Sugia Nazel and Jill Baracci, designer and owner of Baracci boutique.  The groom wore a cream suit and vest with an off-white handkerchief.

2. French President Nicolas Sarkozy and ex-supermodel Carla Bruni tied the knot at at the Elysee Palaceon February 2, 2008.

3. Singer Katharine McPhee married producer Nick Cokas on February 2, 2008 in Beverly Hills. The American Idol alumni wore a strapless ivory Manuel Mota gown and Neil Lane jewels (diamond and platinum chandelier earrings and diamond and platinum bracelets). The groom wore an Armani tuxedo.

4. Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher wed his longtime girlfriend, All Saints singer Nicole Appleton in a secret ceremony in London on Valentine`s Day ‘08.

4. Good Charlotte band member, Billy Martin married his longtime girlfriend Linzi Williamson. The gothic-chic affair took place on March 01, 2008. The bride wore a Kirstie Kelly Couture white lace gown with black satin band and buttons topped with a black point d’esprit hairpiece veil with silk flowers.

5. Beyonce Knowles and Shawn Corey Carter a.k.a Jay-z got married in a secret wedding ceremony in NYC on April 4, 2008. Both of them are born on the 4th of the month. That seems to be the couple’s favorite number.

6. American Pie actor Jason Biggs and Jenny Mollen tied the knot in an intimate, private ceremony in Los Angeles on April 18, 2008.

7. Pop diva Mariah Carey and  rapper-actor Nick Cannon got married on April 30, 2008 in a secret ceremony at The Bahamas  after a whirlwind two-month romance.

8. Presidential daughter Jenna Bush exchanged vows with Henry Hagger at her family’s  ranch in Crawford, Texas on  on May 10, 2008. The bride wore a hip-hugging Oscar de la Renta white gown.

9. Actress Kristanna Sommer Loken married Noah Dalton Danby at t her family’s farm in upstate New York on May 10, 2008. The bride arrived at the wedding, with her father, in a 1971 Buick Riviera.

10. Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz tied the knot on May 17, 2008 with an “Alice in Wonderland” themed reception at the her  parents’ Los Angeles area home.  The bride wore a wedding dress by Monique Lhuillier and a diamond necklace and earrings by Neil Lane.

11. Actress Loni Anderson and folk singer Bob Flick exchanged vows on 17 May 2008. The four-time bride wore a Monique Lhuillier wedding gown.

12. Fantastic Four star Jessica Alba and Cash Warren wed in a secret ceremony in a Beverly Hills Court House on May 19, 2008.

13. Prince Joachim of Denmark married French-born bride Marie Cavallier at the historic Mogeltonder Church on May 24, 2008. The bride wore a full-skirted, off-white gown by Arasa Morelli, made of 19th century inspired lace and tulle. She also had a 3 metre train,  and to top it off,  she wore a stunning 19th century tiara borrowed from her mother-in-law, Queen Margarethe.

14. Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller wed in an intimate ceremony at a private estate in Beverly Hills on May 30, 2008. The bride looked beautiful in a  Reem Acra gown.

15. Ethan Hawke married girlfriend Ryan Shawhughes in a secret ceremony on June 18, 2008 in New York City. The couple met when Shawhughes was hired as a nanny for Hawke’s children when he was still married to Uma Thurman.

16. Australian singer and actress Olivia Newton John married natural-health businessman, John Easterling on June 30, 2008 in Jupiter Island, Fla.

17. Canadian songstress Nelly Furtado quietly tied the knot with sound engineer Demacio “Demo” Castellon on July 19, 2008.

18. San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom exchanged vows with actress Jennifer Siebel at the bride’s parents’ ranch in Montana on  July 26, 2008. The bride wore a strapless Vera Wang gown, which she paired with pieces from S.H. Silver Company.

19. Singer Jewel and her boyfriend of ten years, Ty Murray tied the knot  in a private ceremony in The Bahamas on August 7, 2008.

20. Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have become lawfully wedded wives on August 16, 2008 at their Beverly Hills estate. Both wore Zac Posen and exchanged rings by Neil Lane.

21. NBA star Ray Allen tied the knot with longtime girlfriend Shannon Walker Williams in an intimate ceremony at Martha’s Vineyard on August 16, 2008. The bride wore a gown by wore gown by Melissa Sweet.

22. The Sopranos star James Gandolfini wed his girlfriend, former model Deborah Lin, on August 30, 2008, in her hometown of Honolulu, Hawaii. The bride wore a white Italian lace gown.

23. Star Trek actor George Takei married his partner of 21 years, Brad Altman, on September 14, 2008 in Los Angeles.

24. General Hospital star Tyler Christopher and auto racing pit reporter for ESPN, Brienne Perdigo got married on September 27, 2009.

25. Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds tied the knot on September 27, 2008. The ceremony reportedly took place north of the border in Canada, at a wilderness resort near Vancouver.

26. Radio show host Howard Stern married longtime girlfriend model Beth Ostrosky at the ritzy Le Cirque restaurant in Manhattan on October 3, 2008. The bride wore a Marchesa wedding dress.

27. “The Hills” stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt married in a secret ceremony in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico on November 19, 2008.
